Fraud Policy

This page sets out Atex Digital’s position in plain language. It is a working draft pending review by the company’s legal counsel and does not yet constitute the final binding agreement.

Artificial streaming

Buying streams, using bot networks, or otherwise manipulating play counts is fraud against the platforms, against other artists, and against you. Platforms detect it, withhold the royalties, and can penalise the entire catalogue it is attached to.

Why it is worse than doing nothing

A release flagged for artificial streaming does not simply lose the fake streams. It loses algorithmic trust, which is the thing that would have carried the real ones.

Identity and rights fraud

Claiming recordings or compositions you do not control, or impersonating another artist in metadata, is treated as fraud.

What we do about it

Suspected artificial streaming is investigated. Royalties associated with fraudulent activity may be withheld, releases may be removed, and accounts may be closed.

If you believe someone is claiming or exploiting your work, or if you have been approached by a service selling streams, email Support@atexdigital.com.

Thresholds for withholding, the investigation timeline, and the appeals route must be confirmed by the company’s legal counsel before launch.
